Educar con Gusto (CANICA, 2024-2025)
Project: Educar con gusto
General objective
Increase academic performance and promote educational inclusion for girls, boys, and young people with unfavorable ties to street life who attend the CANICA community center and are of basic school age, through the implementation of a support strategy that includes academic reinforcement, a multigrade classroom, and nutritional support to prevent issues related to poor nutrition, overweight, or malnutrition. Additionally, establish measures to promote nutritional health through education for children, youth, and their families.
Objective 1:
Provide academic support and reinforcement to at least 45 girls, boys, and young people aged 5 to 15 with unfavorable ties to street life who attend CANICA, to help prevent school dropout and to maintain and/or improve their academic performance at the basic education level.
Objective 2:
Promote educational inclusion through a multigrade classroom for at least 20 primary school–aged children who are not currently enrolled in school, enabling them to continue their studies, reach appropriate academic levels, and integrate into the regular education system within the span of one school year.
Objective 3:
Ensure that 80% of CANICA program participants have an individualized nutritional recovery plan, and that 80% also receive educational exposure to healthy eating habits and nutrition, along with access to one free nutritious meal from Monday to Friday at the community center—thus promoting sustainable and personalized educational and nutritional development.
